Description

This was a test to verify how well my modified Canon EOS 2000D performs with a narrowband filter.
There was a lot of compromises: the "narrowband" filter is indeed 35 nm wide and it is a 1.25" one, applied on the 1.25" nose of the Evoguide flattener, which means that there is an overall significant vignetting.
The processing applied calibration files to the original RAW files and then splitted the channels with Astro Pixel Processor, only the calibrated R channel images were then stacked to give the final pic.
Considering that incoming clouds limited the total integration time to less than an hour, that with the above mentioned way of processing just one pixel every four is used, and that the sensor's Q.E. is about 51% maximum (in the green I suppose) to begin with, the overall result is not bad.
Clearly a dedicated monochrome sensor (even an uncooled one) would be greatly superior, but an APS-C mono sensor is yet out of my reach.
